English net is very soft to the touch, and very fluid and flowy in it's drape, and is 55 inches in width. Consequently, an English net wedding veil can be no more than 55 inches wide. It is not as sheer (see-through) as bridal illusion because the fine strands that make up the net pattern are opaque rather than translucent.
English net has no body, no pouf, no stiffness. For lack of a better word, it is limp. Bridal illusion on the other hand is not limp. Even the highest quality bridal illusion will have some stiffness to it, which it needs to provide the pouf and fullness that many want in a wedding veil.
